Support

Once the current restoration, as funded by Wrights Clock Land CIO, is completed, Fulbourn Windmill will once again be a fully functioning windmill able to mill grain to flour using just wind-power and traditional equipment. It will not have had this capability since 1935.

The challenge will then be raising the money and mobilising the volunteers necessary to support the mill into the future and to provide the agreed level of public access.

Volunteers are required for many functions ranging from helping with Open Days, completing maintenance tasks and assisting with the running of the organisation.

If you feel you have the time to contribute your skills to the project then please contact us using the ‘volunteer registration’ form here.

Not only do we need volunteers to help with the many tasks associated with running and maintaining a 200 year old Windmill we also need an ongoing supply of funds.

A variety of donation options are available from  ‘cash at an event’ through to regular subscription.

For those who want to feel they ‘own a bit of a mill’ for a while then the ‘sponsor a shutter’ scheme provides such an opportunity.

Whether you contribute time, money or both you can know that you are helping to keep an iconic local landmark and piece of our agricultural heritage available for future generations.

Sponsor a Shutter

For those who would like to feel that they have a direct involvement with the mill there is the ‘Sponsor a Shutter’ scheme.

The Windmill has four sails and each sail has several shutters that are used to make adjustments according to the strength of the wind.

Via this scheme a donor can choose a shutter for a defined period and have their name associated with it. When you see the sails turning you will know that they are doing so in part due to the shutter you have sponsored.

Sponsorship is offered at £250 per shutter and this value can be increased by using Gift-Aid.

To know more and to receive an application form please email fulbourn.windmill.cio@gmail.com
