The Windmill Community

FWM Community Diagram (1)_edited.jpg

Fulbourn Windmill relies on a wide community of organisations to enable the restoration and its subsequent operation and accessibility.

Core to this is the tri-partite relationship between Fulbourn Windmill CIO as the operator, Wrights Clock Land CIO as the restoration funder and the Property Owners.  The 99-year lease agreed between the property owners and Fulbourn Windmill CIO is a key enabling arrangement and forms part of the suite of agreements.

The restoration will be carried out by a team of experts including a Millwright, Architect, Structural Engineer and various contractors. South Cambridgeshire District Council (SCDC) provides planning and listed property oversight.

Once restored the ongoing activities will be reliant on the voluntary efforts of the supporters and the financial contributions from donors, both individuals and businesses.

The objective is to provide a working demonstration Windmill that is an interesting venue to visit and an asset to the local community.

Fulbourn Windmill CIO is most grateful to all those involved for making this project possible.
